IBN-Halle, Testbed 5 High-Performance Axial Ventilators

The heart of the blower section is formed by two fans connected in series, each with an electrical power Pel of 32 kW and a speed N = 2,950 rpm. The blades of the fans can be adjusted centrally, whereby the angle of attack can be set in the range from 5° to 35°. At the largest angle of attack, a mass flow of up to 10 kg/s can be realized.  The blower section is designed in such a way that various flow bodies can be flanged to the outlet. This allows various basic flow measurement techniques to be tested both as part of the metrological practical course and within student work.  Among other things, pressures are measured using a multiple manometer or differential pressure gauge, and temperatures are also recorded.  At present, the model of a bladed radial diffuser has been installed, which is measured with the aid of pneumatic probes (Prandtl pitot tube, wall pressure holes, hot wire, etc.).
